Marijuana and juvenile epilepsy

So glad this is a thread, my name is Sam and I would like to share my experience. I'm 26 years old and have had more than 20 seizures since 2015. I was only diagnosed with epilepsy 4 years ago and I smoke marijuana frequently. Here's what I have found: first off, drinking any amount of alcohol is a BAD IDEA! I have noticed ( and warned) that alcohol significantly increased my chance of a seizure, I have grandmal seizures and consistently bite my tongue to a point where I bleed all over the place. Secondly, drinking more than one cup of coffee a day is a BAD IDEA. My last seizure was when I drank 3 cups of coffee. Thirdly, any upers you take will significantly increase your chances of seizures. Smoking medical marijuana does not increase your chances. Why you ask? Meditation for me relaxes my body's brain activity, this includes smoking. Now if weed makes you hyper and not sleep, I would suggest not smoking at all. On a side not my docter wrote half the info on epilepsy so I promise I didn't make this up. Sam

I was diagnosed with epilepsy

I was diagnosed with epilepsy at age 8 and I'm 58.  I have recently discovered that when I start to have seizures back to back I drink a beer and it stops them.  I'm on primidone (generic of mysoline) , Keppra XR and Lamictal XR.   Doctor prescribed lorazepam but it knocks me out.  I'm not suggesting to drink beer all the time but in case of an emergency you might try drinking one or two till they stop. Good luck
