Help! Pseudo seizures or epilepsy?

Sat, 03/05/2016 - 10:15
My name is Taran and I'm eighteen years old. I've been having seizures for 4 years now and the doctors I've been to can't tell me what's going on. Some of the doctors tell me that I have epilepsy and for two years I was put on medication that was working. But then the doctors told me that I don't have epilepsy and that I have psuedo seizures. They took me off of my medicine and told me that I need to grow up and get a life because I'm just doing this for attention and faking my seizures. I keep getting told that I'm crazy because of my seizures and I don't know what to do. First I'm told that I have epilepsy and now im told that I'm crazy and that I'm just faking everything when I'm not. One of the hospitals tried to put me in a mental institution because of my seizures. I'm upset and confused because I don't know what to do and I want someone to just listen to me because I know I'm not crazy.

Welcome Taran Ok I read your post.. Doctors?? You did not post the kinds od doctors. There are seizures that people have that are non epileptic. The people with them are not crazy. Their seizures look like an epileptic seizures. The sight to look at is http://nationalseizuredisordersfoundation.org/ They are working anf trying to get specialists to work with them so their people will get the assistance needed, Now I had 20-25 different EEG's and all came back normal.I was going thru a battery of tests to try and find out what was causing my seizures. It was a week of testing in a hospital. Spinal tap what was the MRI of the 60's and many other tests. The last test was ANOTHER EEG. Being tired because of all the testing I fell asleep in that EEG and that was when they saw abnormalities, By seeing where they came from they checked the MRI closer in that area of my brain they found scared brain tissue. Which is what is causing my seizures. You need to be seeing a neurologist that specializes in epilepsy. In that visit tell him everything. answer his questions and listen to him.
