Tue, 10/28/2014 - 00:32

My son is 6 years old he also has Down syndrome in the past 6 years he has had 3 seizures the first one was 3 years ago and the 2nd one was 2 years ago he didn't shake on them just blank stares and stiff body EEG was normal on October 12th he had another one this time shaking 2 of the sezuires happen about 30 seconds after he trips he does not hit his head he trips playing or running and he starts whining I go to pick him up and then he had one. It's hard to explain but I'm sure he does not hit his head or does not fall because of a sezuire I see him trip. I have had cat scans done blood test and EEG all negative a neurologist wants to start him on lamotrigine generic for lamictal he wants him to be on 100mg. I don't know what to do I want to do what's best for my son but I also don't want him taking a medication that is serious. Please any advice on things I should do or consider or bring up to the neurologist or any further testing I should do thank you so much
