NEW AND CONFUSED

I AM WORRIED THAT I MAY HAVE HAD A BRAIN TUMOR FOR 3 YEARS. I HAVE HAD SEIZURES FOR 3 YEARS BEEN TO THREE DOCTORS ONE NEUROLOGIST HAD A CT SCAN DONE AND WAS DIAGONOSED WITH DISSOCIATIVE DISSORDER. I HAVE RECENTLY HAD LONGER EPISODES OF RECOVERY AFTER MY "DISSOCIATION" DOCTOR SENT ME TO HAVE AN EEG WHICH SHOWED EPILEPSY. I AM NOW WORRIED THAT WHY DID THEY NOT FIND THIS OUT BEFORE AND AM I IN MORE DANGER THAN 3 YEARS AGO WHEN I FIRST COMPLAINED. I AM WORRIED ABOUT A BRAIN TUMOR. I COULD USE YOUR HELP AND ENCOURAGEMENT i just now found out that there was abnormal slowing of waves on the left front side of the brain due to a structural issue THANKS

I am sure that you have been checked for a brain tumour and would know now if that was the case. I too had a similar worry when my daughter started to have seizures. Thankfuly it was epilepsy which is treatable . I hope that you are getting the medical help you need as the worry will not help.Best of Luck

Hello and welcome. Try not to worry too much, stress doesn't help the seizures, either. I can tell you to request an MRI from your neurologist, this is usually a little more detailed than the CT scan, but along the same lines, and will detect a brain tumor. If an EEG shows abnormal brain waves, however, it is possible that you have E, and not a tumor. Hope this helps a little, Susan

thank you both for your help especially the part about possibility of e and not necessarily a brain tumor.
