Hi Nastaran It is true that some children or teenagers who develop seizures might actually stop seizing. The doctor might call it Pseudo epilepsy. Something that the child would actually grow out of. When I was a child the doctor thought this is what I had and would grow out of it. But when I was 17 I was still having seizures and the doctor reckoned that I should have stopped having seizures by then. So I had an MRI scan done and discovered I had a scar in my left temporal lobe. So the doctor sais I do in fact have epailepsy after all! I have not heard of anyone growing out of it after teens but maybe you can? I can only tell you what I was told from my own experience. I'm 30 now and it certainly didn't go away! As for your EEG, well I've only had 2 in my whole life. One when I was a child for an hour and that was normal. And my second one was only recent, I stayed in the hospital for nearly a week monitoring 24/7 and showed up my seizure activity and pointed out that my seizure activity was happpening in the location of where my scar is. If you are so concerned I would suggest that you talk to your doctor and see what he/she thinks. Best of luck! Quirky

I too was told I MAY outgrow my sz's by the age of 40. I was diagnosed when I was 12, but had been having them as long as I can remember. I will be 34 on Friday, and unfortunately, they are worse now than they were when I was younger. I think as research continues the Doctors are learning of certain types of E that can be outgrown, and others that cannot. I can say I have generalized epilepsy; it is genetic (I am adopted, so I can't even research that) but that I will be on medication for the rest of my life. I have a nephew who has Benign Rolandic Epilepsy, and they say he'll outgrow it, so I want to see what happens, as he gets older. Sorry I don't have more optimistic information. Susan
