Dreaming and having Seizures

Sun, 12/10/2006 - 15:51
I am not sure where to even post this so I am just going to post this here and hopefully someone can help me with this... OK here it goes.. I have Epilepsy like everyone else here. Mine are Complex partial with Secondary. I am on Topamax 150 2x a day. I am still in the early stages of getting meds right so keep this in mind and not even sure if this med is even the "right" med for me.. But long story short, when I was a kid I had what was formally called "Petite Mal" seizures now called Absence seizures took Phenobarb several years and and lucky enough was OK for more than 25 years without meds. This Oct I had a Grand Mal seizure out of No where, landed in ER with and Abnormal EEG and normal MRI and on Topamax.. OK concerns this week I had 2 vivid dreams that I actually had a seizures in them. I was telling my husband this and now we are wondering if I actually had a seizer in my sleep.. Has anyone else experienced this, or is just my mind playing "tricks" on me or should I have one of those video sleep EEG's?? Side effect of the med?? any in site?? Even though I had Epilepsy when I was a kid, I am all new to it! Please help! Thank you!

I just am lost...I had

I just am lost...I had another dream last night, woke up dreaming about telling my husband to "pick it up" ( the square lunch box that was ready to slowly "roll off" of a pier--figure that. I repeated it, hollering it louder and louder, before it would fall into the water. Eventually, the last hollering by me, I woke up my spouse, to my mouth barely feeling open, but my body feeling drained. He put his hand on my shoulder to calm me.  Did anyone ever had a "barking-type sound" when they awoke?, one hard, physically-draining sound? Joy

Dreaming of seizures happens

Dreaming of seizures happens to me every few months. Had one last night. Dreamt I was in my bed having a seizure. My night seizures often don't wake me up. I've had them recorded on VEEG and don't remember them at all unless I've injured myself in some way. During my first VEEG, I didn't so the doctors are the ones who told me about (and showed me) the seizure.

Hiya, I completely get this!! It happens about once every few months and I have no idea if it's a seizure or not. My SO says I wasn't convulsing but what if he slept through it. I don't know about you but I physically feel the aura and everything beforehand. I sometimes then wake with a headache. I can't work it out, I'm so glad you brought it up!!
