How Clumsy Are You?

Wed, 09/13/2006 - 14:21
Out of curiosity, how many of you are clumsy because of your seizures? When I am having SPS and go what I term 'a little spacey', if I am holding anything, I have a tendency to drop it. Another example that is common with me, is managing to stumble and trip up on the straight floor of my kitchen, while standing still, first thing in the morning, where SPS are really common with me. It's infuriating because it's rarely seen by people around me as anything other than me not paying attention (oh how familiar it sounds to my teacher in primary school when I would space out!) but I'm certain it's part of seizing. Any thoughts?

Very clumsy!! If it is there, I walk into it. This includes walls, doors, tables, chairs, my own feet, etc. I am most prone to dropping and/or breaking things late at night. When we get a house, I will be getting a dishwasher so that I do not have to handle dishes at night (I loathe dishes). Lord help me if I'm trying to drink tea or coffee on a "bad day". ;) Every time I read a post from you I cannot help but laughing because you just sound so much like me. For what it's worth, I have and am being treated primarily for SPS (with a few complex partials thrown in on random occasion to keep things all fun and interesting for my brain).

hey! Thanks for replying! I mainly asked because about a half hour before I posted, I had a SPS and almost dropped my laptop through a glass-top table, earning a lot of 'for goodness sake be careful!' comments from everyone in the house. Only, I wasn't aware the laptop had left my hands until I heard the crash. LOL. Do you fancy talking some more, via email or whatever? I'm always interested in talking to new people, and especially about epilepsy atm. :)

hahah. Given the time stamp on your post, I think I was emailing you while you were posting. Great minds, I guess ;) I can't tell what is or isn't a seizure anymore. For a while they were nice and clear and now I'm all nice and fuzzy again. I know exactly what you mean about not knowing something has left your hands until you hear the crash. I knocked over my coffee cup (thankfully empty) and wasn't aware of it until I heard it clatter. That happens alot, actually.
