recurrent (serial) seizures
Mon, 09/04/2006 - 22:12Has anyone experienced these who has simple partials? They seem to hit like once every 3 to 4 minutes, then I start to recover and then another hits.
Can go on for hours if not for meds.

Hi Sam
If/when I start with the simple partials, they will go on all day. I feel like I'm phasing in and out of reality. Things seem distant and surreal. I don't like the feeling, but there isn't much you can do to stop it.
If you haven't seen a neuro yet, I would make an appointment. Also, try keeping a journal to see if there is a pattern. I like being able to put a pattern to my seizures so that I can identify triggers. So far, the only trigger I've found is stress and exhaustion.

Stress? Exhaustion? You mean like a 2 and 1/2 year old teething w/ fever and up the past two nights as well as hubby getting up at 3:30 a.m. for work? That kind of stress/exhaustion??? There's no hope...
Le sigh...
But yes, I have been to a neuro. Two EEGS, both normal. VEEG this month, so that's good. It's just soooo hard to function with all this going on.

Hi Sam I can get clusters of phantom smells which I belive are simple partial seizures. I can go days with out having them, but I can have quite a few over a short space of time. If I get a cluster then I know that a TC will occur a day or so later, but the last time this happened though I had a 40 minute simple partial seizure which I have never had before as my simple partial seizures (not phantom smells) usually last about 3-5 mins. I really hope things get sorted for you soon, as clusters are not fun at all. Have you seen a nuerologist yet? take care Hayley xx
