seizures triggered by colors

Sun, 07/23/2006 - 16:58
Does anyone have seizures that are sometimes triggered by colors? A lot of mine are and I was wondering about the transition lens glasses for them. I have other triggers also, but a lot seems to be colors that trigger them.

Certain colors, or the sudden appearance of certain colors, or patterns of colors as in alternating stripes? Make me seize very reliably. For instance that script you can type in that is neon blue? That bright pink and the yellow, not so much, but still does it? Drop me like a rock. Or I get mesmerized, can't move, or talk. I'm told that's a part of photosensitive/photoconvulsive- if you convulse. I tend to have atonic drops. I was shown once by my doctor a circle with alternating neon pink and green and wound up with a status seizure. I was sz'ing a lot then anyway - I think. I actually can't remember that well. And some colors bother me if I'm not expecting them, a sudden appearance where normally if I'm expecting them? It won't. Like I have been visiting a web site with a soft blue skin. I went to it this morning and the skin had changed to a banana colored yellow, which normally wouldn't bother me but the sudden appearance of an entire screen of yellow? I dropped sideways out of my chair, instantly. Tis a bitch. I feel it's a chronic ambush. I even have to avert my eyes when someone uses the icon in yellow with kissing heads but I've complained so much about moving icons and certain colors and this site has complied I haven't complained about that. It doeosn't occur that much. Gretchen
