Trouble coming off meds

Over the past year I have tried to come off Zonegran two different times with horrid results. Extreme anxiety, panick attacks, fear of death, etc. The first time I was coming off it to go onto Keppra and thought it was a reaction to the Keppra, but in January I went into the hospital for a Video EEG trying to see if I was a candidate for the epilepsy surgery. While I was in the hospital, they took me off my meds to cause seizures and I began having the same symptoms. So now I wonder if it some type of weird withdrawals. Has anyone else experienced this type of withdrawal on any of their meds. I am having the epilepsy surgery in about a week and if the surgery is successful, the thought of coming off the meds is terrifying. Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks.
