Panic attacks or seizures???????

Sat, 04/01/2006 - 22:34
Hi everyone! I just joined and am very amazed and some of the discussions here. I am glad I found this site and am hoping that someone can give me a little advice. Neurologists have been telling me for years that these episodes I have are panic attacks/anxiety. I don't think they are and unfortunatly I never have these episodes while hooked up to an EEG. I get these raid heartbeats, goose bumps, and a weird feeling in my stomach. These episodes will happen at random. It seems like if I have more than 2 in a day I also lose my appetite and feel a funny taste in my mouth. It takes me a couple days to feel like myself again. I don't feel stressed or have anything out of the ordinary going on so I am convinced they are auras. Another thing is that every complex partial seizure comes after these episodes. I don't have many complex or grand mals so that makes me more sure they are related. Doctors did switch my meds a couple times to see if that would help but it didn't. Now they think I should see a shrink and try anti-depressents. Before I "give in" someone give me some advice!!!!!!!!!

Sounds like you know the problem and maybe time to change doctors. I went through all that as well and the phyciatrist said it was seizures then was suprised to see me back and said get a new neurologist. Next one was no better so I got an epilotologist and right now things are going well. Oh and those regular eegs are good for nothing, the veeg is much better. It was after one of those that i got better results. Smiles and take care.
