Hello Bevs The drug Clobazam (Frisium) is an anti-anxiety drug which is used also to control seizures. Clobazam is an old drug which has been out for many years. I am also taking the drug Clobazam (Frisium) along with two other drugs which is used just as an add-on drug to the other two meds. It is given to me to try and stop my seizures happening during the time of my period. A person becomes very dependant on this drug very quickly so I have to stop the drug in the morning each month when my period ends and then continue just at night until my next monthly cycle. The disadvantage of using it this way is now it is causing me to have withdrawal seizures so it doesn't work for me, but it may work for someone else. When I first started taking clobazam, stopping it abruptly would give me anxiety attacks, up to twelve seizures over two/three days, loss of appeitite where I would lose up to 7lb in weight each month within a week, but regain it again once the withdrawal of it would stop in my body, generally feeling ill inbetween seizures and unable to sleep. I wouldn't advise any woman to do it this way. It was a nightmare! Now, I just withdraw it in the morning. I hope to stop this meds totally when I go and visit the Epilepsy nurse at the end of this month. I can still get the withdrawal seizures, but not has bad as before. How long have you been on it? Is it giving you bad side effects, if so I would advise you to have a chat with your neurologist, but please don't withdraw it quickly otherwise you will get the same as I do. Let me know how you get on? All the best Teri

thanks pinkangel i am being weaned off eppillim chrono at the mo so i really can not tell if it is the clobazam or the lowering dosage of eppillim but i feel so down at the moment you know crying at the drop of a hat and so anxious and vacant ,so i can not tell which one it is.i have had more seizures whist being weaned off the eppillim which i half expected.well i am going into hospital next monday for a sleep deprivation eeg.talking about addiction i know deep in my heart that i am addicted to the pain killer dihydracodien which i take for my neuro condition called idiopathic intracraniel hypertension, basically i have to much fluid around my brain which causes to much pressure so i have to take it for the pain.thanks for being ther for me bevs
