Peri/menopause and sz activity--any advice?

I know there has been a post on this a few years ago, but I need some updated info if anyone has any. There are quite a few posts in the women's forum on pregnancy, but very few for us older women! lol I have had 4 incidents in just the last year where I have "passed out" with very little warning. Twice it was at work, once at home, and once in a busy mall in front of dozens of people. All 4 times I have injured my head in some fashion (cuts, bruises, etc) All 4 times there were hospital visits, CT scans to make sure there was no physical damage. The seizures I typically have are partial-complex (originating in the left temp lobe) and over the last 28 years I have had maybe 5 tonic-clonic seizures. These "passing out" things have really thrown me for a loop, and have interfered with my job, my life, and my health...not to mention my face. Right now I am writing this with a huge bruise on my left cheekbone, and my lips are swollen after passing out in my bathtub. I contact my neurologist faithfully, I have not missed any meds, I am signed up to be tested to see if I am a canditate for surgery in July...and I have even made an appointment with a second neuro to get another opinion. I am partially convinced that what is going on has to do with my body changing (I will be 50 this year) and my high sugar intake. I have already started tackling the sugar intake, which may have had something to do with how I was feeling last night. If anyone else out there has experienced these "passing out" seizures or their seizures changing due to their lovely life change, let me know... Thanks so much, Megan
