Hi all! Quick back ground I was diagnosed in 2008 complex partials with a grandmal tendency. I had my rphone gut hippocampus removed in sept of 2010 and have been seizure free! The last couple of months I have had weird seizure like feelings and requested a eeg . My eeg came back neg for seizures but shows some slowing on right side where surgery was dr said we will discuss options at appt next week. Any thoughts on what to expect?

The right side slowing is

The right side slowing is expected after right sided surgery. I guess it depends on whether your sensations are auras or just weird feelings that follow the path of your old seizures but go nowhere. Ideally, you would get video EEG monitoring and have one of these weird feelings happen so you could see what the EEG does when you actually have the feeling. That might be hard to catch if you have them infrequently. Another possibility would be to go on a medication to see if it stops the weird feeling. You are probably going to have to figure out how much these feelings bother you and how much it is worth investigating. I would keep a seizure diary of these feelings if you are not already. I hope it turns out to be nothing to worry about for you!

Same thing for me, except I

Same thing for me, except I did not have gran mals.  I had my surgery in 2008 and still hd some issues until I changed my diet to a gluten free one on the suggestion from some one here when it was still Epilepsy Foundation.org.  I still have auras and I am maxed out on three different medications.  My neuro sinally sent me to UCLA where I had my right temporal lobe resection done and they put through a VEEG.  What they saw was hard for them to diagnose because the seizures went so quick, I think the longest one lasted about 8 seconds and I drooled all over myself.  Now they are planning on me going in for a SEEG, intra-cranial EEG.  You know, sticking the probes into my brain. I will be in the hospital for at least a week like that.  Before all that I will have to get a MEG,,,,,, which I have never heard of before.
