Provoked fit

Thu, 04/12/2018 - 17:55
Hi I recently had a provoked fit when I tried a tens machine. I've never had a fit before and am not diagnosed with any heart problems. The whole experience was scary and unexpected. I'm wondering if it could have been the placement of the Tens machine pads which were at the back of the base of my neck that caused this and is it very unlikely that I won't have another fit due to the fact this was provoked. Thanks for any advice.

epilepsy is not a heart

epilepsy is not a heart problem. The use of electrical impulses has been known for years and I had a Doc that placed the stimulators under my shoulder blades which calmed me down and at time put me to sleep.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transcutaneous_electrical_nerve_stimulation If you read sentence in the safety section you might find your answer.TENS should also be used with caution in people with epilepsy or pregnant women; So you need to check with your neurologist about the use of a TENS and the setting you need to have it on.I hope this helpsJoe
