Out of nowhere to ruin everything

Sat, 03/31/2018 - 16:57
My first seizure was on a very hot day in 2010 and I had no prior issues. They just said it was due to the heat and the caffeine I had. Then a couple of months later i had another one and was put on medicine. I was going on fine for several years with no issues then my neurologist decided to try to take me off it. I has a seizure in 2013 out of nowhere. Ever since I was on medicine just fine but it wasn't until recently that I started having sleep issues a month ago. So another neurologist I saw put me on another medicine. Thinks were going great! Then suddenly last Sunday out of nowhere I had another. I was alone in my apartment and it took me a while to figure out what happened. I already have wisdom teeth coming in but on top of that I really bit my tongue hard. Ever since it has been agony as I can't really eat or drink or talk. I've gotten things from the urgent care and ideas from the dentist but they have only helped a little. I don't know what to do. The pain has been so severe it makes my eyes water constantly . Any suggestions or thoughts would be welcomed! I live on my own and I now cannot drive for 3 months

As a teen and into my early

As a teen and into my early twenties I used to bite my tongue and cheeks a lot during those generalized seizures.  Most people think epilepsy is just about the seizures; they don't know the pain we go through after the events.A dentist one time suggested I wear a mouth guard to bed since sleep is where I had most of my seizures.  I'm guessing mouth guards are the same thing they provide sports players?  Dentist made one to fit me, I tried it for a while but gave it up.  It was uncomfortable and I didn't have seizures that often.  But if your seizures happen more frequently and during sleep this is an idea to help not only protect against the chewed up flesh but also it would help protect teeth which can get ground down during many seizures over the years.Keep track of all the meds you try and how successful they are.  Your doctor depends upon your accurate reporting to help judge best treatment options.  If several drugs have failed to control the seizures ask doc about other options involving surgery.  Get the seizures under comfortable control and relieve the pain that comes from seizures.
