aquired epilepsy

It has been a year now since i hit my head in an accident. After 3 months from my head injury instarted having partial seizures. My memory has delcined so that every day feels like ground hog day. I dissociate and cant remember who i was or what i felt the day before. The depersonalization makes my life a mess and i no longer have a sex drive. At 26 i cannot even get an erection anymore and life is feeling pretty meaningless. I feel like I don't even want to live anymore. I can't work and I can't do anything I love or even find a meaningful relationship. What is the point in living this useless life of mine

did the neurologists say your epilepsy was because of your head injury? Epilepsy does not discriminate. Meaning anybody at any time can get epilepsy. You did not mention your medications or that you checked the side effects of those medications.sex drive and erections are there. It may take longer but they are there. Keeping one is harder then it used to be but then that is because your medications calms down the central nervous system. You did not say why you can't work. Is it because you do not want to? Or is it because you are having seizures while working? Relationships can be made. It takes finding someone that likes you and wants to be around you. which means you do need to work on different things. Like how you accept your epilepsy. Work on taking your medications like they are prescribed. 2 times a day does not mean 7 am a d 10 pm. It means as close to 12 hours apart unless your neurologist sats otherwise. Or unless it is an ER medication. But then those have to be taken at the same time everyday since that keeps the therapeutic levels where they should be to stop breakthrough seizures from happening. When I was your age I was taking phenobarbital, Dilantin and tegratol. The amount of phenobarb I took in one day was enough to put the average man to sleep for 24 hours. Now add the Dilantin and tegratopl to that and you have one big cocktail. So it took longer to get things up but I did it. Your life is not useless just because you have to adjust your life style. I went out with friends and we closed down the bars and clubs we went to. They knew about my epilepsy. They also knew I limited my alcohol. But we had some great times. One of those friends and I have been together for over 45 years.
