9 year old son recently diagnosed - Epilim side effects

Thu, 05/17/2018 - 23:37
My son has been diagnosed with epilepsy showing continuos spike waves at times during sleep although under threshold for ESES. He is taking Epilim 7.5 ml am and pm and he is so tired it is affecting his sport that he loves and day to day life. At the moment the cons are outweighing the pros and unsure whether to continue to medicate as he was fine academically and reaching targets. He has always been anxious with slight behaviour issues but I was never aware of any seizures. During his 24 hr eeg he showed a couple of absence seizures during the day but were seconds and I’m not even aware they are happening. My question is as it hadn’t affected him previously I don’t feel the need to medicate as he feels so horrible now but not sure if he will get worse.
