Keppra, Lamictal, Vitamin B6

I have been on Lamictal for 3 weeks and my doctor just added Keppra. I have heard that Keppra has mood swing and aggressive behavior as side effects. Does someone know if the likelihood of having those 2 side effects is very high or they are side effects that majority of people never have them? It is also said that Vitamin B6 can reduce those side effects. Can Vitamin B6 be taken together at the same time with Lamictal and Keppra? Thank you.

Keppra is known very well for it's behavior side effects. Some people have them others don't. Some people get off of it due to not liking how they behave being on it. I'm sure being on multiple medications with those side effects doesn't help. I have been on Keppra and Lamictial at the same time before as well and had some ups and down of my own.

Thank you. Do you take

Thank you. Do you take Vitamin B6 as well? If so what is the dose and do you take it at the same time with Lamictal and Keppra? Does it help?

If you check most of the

If you check most of the other medications for seizure control you would see that they too have mood swings and aggression as side effects. If you researched keppra and read all the different posts about how bad it is and everything else written about it now working well then you would only see a small portion of the people are taking or that took it posting information. I am not saying you will not get a side effect. But with most side effects there are 5-8% of the people taking it that got one and they have to stop using it. With some side effects the odds are up to 12%. So which will you be wanting your seizures stopped like the 92-95% that had no problems or will you not take it because you do not want to even try it because you MIGHT I repeat MIGHT get a side effect? It will take time for your body to get used to any medication while the therapeutic levels build in your system. That time period can vary from a few weeks up to about 4. After that then those side effects generally go away. For me in the 50+ years I have been taking meds for seizure control I haven't had any side effects. I have taken about 20-25 different medications and couplings of medications in that period of time. Currently I am taking keppra (the generic which works like regular keppra) and vimpat. I have been using keppra for over 15 years. It reduced the number of seizures I was having. The vimpat was added to it about 5 years ago and that addition shortened the time in those seizures. Keppra is the best seizure medication I have ever used. Vitamin B6  if taken needs to be taken at night because it needs time to get into your system completely. I take mine with my evening meds. Oh and if you take meds 2 times a day those times need to be as close to 12 hours apart as you can get them.I hope this helpsJoe
