Keppra and Lamictal

Wed, 09/19/2018 - 07:59
Good morning, I seem to be having a problem with the interaction between my Lamictal and Keppra. I started it about 4 months ago and have had 4 chronic/Tonic seizure since. I haven't had that many in as many years beforehand. I'm wondering if anybody else has been having problems with this combo and what they did to help. I'm taking 800mg of Lamictal at night along with 250mg of Keppra morning and night. I've also experienced some of the side affects such as massive swings but have been able to get through them pretty ok. I know I should tell my doctor about it but I'm afraid she will take my license away and I need it for my job. I live by myself and wouldn't be able to get to work at 6am most mornings. I've also looked through other posts relating to this but none of them seemed to offer a concrete solution. Thanks for any insights!

I have been on both. You can

I have been on both. You can request blood work checking your levels to see if you are at the right levels of medication. If you aren’t having actual seizures but side effects, they will most likely work with you and adjust your medication. I also drive a distance to work and drive for work. If you are having seizures though, as scary as it is, it would be scarier if someone was hurt in an accident if you were having a seizure. You are more important and need to keep yourself and others safe. Hope they can figure things out for you. This is not fun!
