Generic Keppra and Permanent Voice Problems

Wed, 05/15/2019 - 01:17
9 months ago I started having voiced problems, to the point I couldn't speak anymore. My doctor took me off generic Keppra recently and to my surprise, my voice came back. It's louder and more clear but it still hurts to speak. Is it possible that permanent damage could have been done over the 9 months due to that medication and trying to speak? Thank you!

Hi, I have never heard of this - sorry to hear this happened. Talk to your doctor and if he or thinks it's a possible side effect, it can be reported to the manufacturer of the drug. Side effects can also be reported to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA)
