Can't get a prescription

Tue, 01/14/2020 - 17:01
Going nuts trying to get my prescription of Lacosamide refilled. My neuro retired. I have an appointment with a new neuro on Feb 4th. New neuro won't prescribe refill without seeing me and can't get me in any sooner. PCP won't prescribe at all. I'm out of meds as of Thursday. What can I do? Will an urgent care prescribe?

Hi, Thank you for posting and we understand your frustrations and concerns. Taking your medications as prescribed by your doctor is extremely important. You may try contacting your pharmacy to see if they will give you a couple weeks supply of your medication, until you have your appointment on the 4th with your new neurologist. You may also want to try contacting your former neurologist’s office, (if possible) for additional assistance on getting a temporary refill, or contacting local Urgent Care offices to see if they will refill this for you, until you can get in with your new doctor. Additionally, your local Epilepsy Foundation: https://www.epilepsy.com/affiliates may be able to help. Or you may always contact our Epilepsy and Seizures 24/7 Helpline: 1-800-332-1000, contactus@efa.org, where a trained information specialist where trained are available to answer your questions, offer help, hope, support, guidance, and access to national and local resources.epilepsy.com/helpline
