Liftoff for the Shuttle Discovery...!

Sun, 07/16/2006 - 06:09
This is getting more and more uncommon here ever since the Columbia Trajedy. Another group of brave souls who will not be forgotten. This is only the second since, when I used to be able to see launches about once a year. If I had a ride round trip I'd try to get photos of the landing tomorrow, too. Susan

Some of those who know me know that one of my favorite hobbies is that of Astrophotography. I have a Meade Telescope, and the summer sky at night is graced with some of the most beautiful constellations and heavenly objects of which to take photos. If anyone else is outside around 5:00 A.M. the summer mornings are a great time to see some of the other planets, and I am usually up and outside to see them. Unfortunately the 3 (now 7 weeks old today) puppies have yet to figure out that the telescope tripod is a "NO-NO", so once I can get it set up and motionless I'll have some more interesting pics.
