Frustration and New Seizures

Wed, 10/31/2018 - 17:53
So.. I was diagnosed with epilepsy at 16yo. Around 25-26, I went about 3 years without an episode. Seemed pretty well controlled. I moved, had a baby, and now suddenly they're back only different. I used to jerk around, but these latest ones I lose time. I don't remember them, my co-workers described it as me zoning out, eyes fluttering, breathing shallow, and hands clinch. I have an appointment with a new neurologist tomorrow. I used to move a lot, so I hadn't had a neurologist in a while. I'm nervous about going back and being told the EEG doesn't show anything. I'm also nervous about starting a new medication. Overall I'm just nervous.... any advice?

Hey there, I think we've all experienced that anxiety about the tests, the meds, the appointments. Just hang in there and remember the Drs and trying to work with you to make you safe as possible and keep you feeling as good as possible. EEGs aren't everything, you have a medical history, and that means a lot. I've never caught a seizure on EEG and I've still had great medical care. I hope things go well for you,Best of luck,B
