hi everyone my name is jonathan im 15 i started having seizures 5months ago my first was like this i would breath fast and heavy the convulse well i was awake then get chest pain but they have grown more savere over time now i get a smell lose contiousness go into convultions lose contenence and be confused witha headach afterwards and realy tired my CT,EEG,ECGs,CHEST EXRAY,and ULTRASOUND HAVE COME back negative iv been started on lamictal 25x2 daily the 50x2 and they have stopped are these realy epileptic seizures im waiting to go for an MRI soon

hi jonathan here thanks for all your support i guess were both in the same boat yeah! i was first diagnosed as have in sycological seizures (speudoseizures) but then the doctors said that they were to savere to be sycological so they checked me out for any heart some cardiovascular heart rythms like syncope (faint) can some time cause convulstions but the diagnoses is epilepsy but room for douts oh! and yeah! CT,EEG all negative clear normal but most tests for epilepsy are normal unless an underlying illness is causeing epilepsy ie.tumer head truama there is actuly no test that can say for sure if you have epilepsy i hope things go well for you 2 i will email ya some time heres mine as well www.J-boy@hotmail.com thaks alot xxx best of look

heya jonathan, i know you must be really scared. i have to say, all seizures are not nessesarily epileptic. there are such things as getting seizures because of a psychological problem or because there is a problem with blood sugar levels etc. keep an open mind. when u say negative, do u mean that nothing showed up in any of your tests eg. ct, eeg? thats good ure seizures stopped with the medication so that may show the sign its could be epilepsy. seizures, whether epilepetic or non-epileptic ar esever on the person themselves. i bet its had a bad affect on your life. ive had seizures for nearly a year now and i still havnt been given a proper diagnosis because my tests showed nothing in them! well hang on in there. if u wanna chat to some one close to your age, then please feel free to email me on victoriahnurse@hotmail.co.uk bye...
