Side Effect of Zonegran?

I am new to Zonegran and only took it for a couple of nights as it gave me insomnia and bad vacancy/removedness almost instantly however, I didn't have a szs for the 2 x weeks that it was working it's way out of my system and the calmness was magic! I am now back to my frantic/anxious self. May I enquire how it has effected you, how long you are on it, other side effects - good/bad? as I am thinking of trying it again but a lwr dosage.

I haven't had any problems with it at all, except for the question I posted. I've been taking it for a little over a year. My epi told me that one of the side effects could be dehydration, so I should drink plenty of water. That's been hard for me because, since I started taking it, I'm not as thirsty as I used to be. Strange. She said I would also probably be up a few times at night to go to the bathroom, but I sleep better than I did before and rarely wake up. I don't have many seizures at all. I take 200mg at night before I go to bed. I also take 200mg Lamictal in the morning and 200mg Lamictal at night.
How much were you taking? Are you taking anything else, too? Maybe your doc started you off on too high a dose. You have to move so slowly with these sz drugs that it takes forever to get it up to the right amount.

hiya Carry, i really hope you get this, i would love to know how you got in, i started zonegran a couple of months ago, and founf myself with thrush like symptoms, turns out i have reacurring yeast infections on the zonegran aswell, my neuro isn in much a a hurry to sort me out, hes not as helpful as some.. at the moment theyre doing alot of switch overs im on 200mg of tegratol, and 200mg of the zonegran per day, im so thirsty i could drink the indian ocean dry, sweats, as someone else said, its like goin through puberty again... but hard to get someone to listen, this is my 5th attempt at finding a drink that works for me.. anyhow, how did you get on with the zonegran?did it settle? or did they take you off it?
