first symtpoms...what to do?

Tue, 01/25/2005 - 18:28
In the middle of the night, when i was asleep with my girlfriend, she says that she woke up to me appearing to have a seizure. She said that it sounded like i was trying to vomit and she tried to open my mouth but my jaw was clenched shut. She said that i was straightening my legs and kicking the window that is in my room. She also said that my arms were down by my side. She said she was trying to wake me up because she didn't know what was going on. She said she couldn't wake me up at all even trying to hit me to get me to come to and nothing worked. When I came to, I had no recollection of any of that. But I didn't have any problems doing anything like speaking or walking or anything. I got up and went to the bathroom and got a drink about ten minutes after she told me that happened. I was just wondering what I should do.

Hi,

Go to the hospital or primary care physician and have an EEG, echo, MRI, xrays, and anything else they recommend ASAP.  If you are having seizures, you do not want it to happen in public, and especially not when you are driving!  This could be dangerous, and even fatal, to yourself and others.  The sooner you have this checked out, the sooner you can start taking action and gain peace of mind!  Good luck!

Sorry to tell you this but that definately sounds like a siezure. I was diagnosed 15 months ago and have been on medication since. I haven't had a siezure in one year. It is scary to discover that you might have this sickness but you need to see a doctor as soon as you can. This can be very dangerous if it is not controlled and should not be put off. Good luck to you and God bless.
