Anyone experienced this?

Mon, 04/13/2015 - 08:44

I have partial seizures and I`ve been experiecing seizure actitivity for the last few weeks. Sometimes they`re as frequent as 3 seconds apart for hours.  I was given frisium as a temporary measure but have discontinued as it seemed to lower my seizure threshold as I started having absences which I haven`t had in about 10 years.

Woke circa 1.30am by "gastric rising" feeling every 2 seconds, confusion and a funny head, for want of a better word, this became very intense and closer together. I can only think I blacked out at this point and the next thing was a  feeling of whole body numb, floating and tingling (like I didn`t have a body) I thought I better wake my OH but could not move my hand or get any sound out of my mouth (I felt very calm and semi conscious, kind of far away feeling).  I remember nothing again then trying to alert OH again, then nothing till the sound of gushing in my right ear, a racing heartbeat and a deep breath. I feel I was not breathing during this.

Have a rough "hang over" type feeling today and muscle soreness.

I have experienced sleep paralysis and it is quite different for eg. I feel panicky when I have sleep paralysis, my body feels there and normal and I try to open my eyelids with no urge to wake my OH. There is also no "dramatic" wake up feeling with the sleep paralysis ie heart palitations, gushing sound or hunger for air.

I have an app this wednesday and afraid to mention this in case he looks at me like I`m nuts!

If the appt is with your neurologist then by all means mention them since you may be having cluster seizures, There are medicines that stop the clusters. I take one after the first seizure and the clusters stop So if the appt is not with your neurologist then you do need to see one.

then by all means discuss

then by all means discuss this issue with him he knows the medications like the one I use for clusters. If I feel a seizure has hit me I know that seizure will be seconds long. So after that seizure I take the rescue mediction and it stops the other sezures from comming. I got it prescribed after being taken to the ER because someone saw be fall down while in the second seizure in the cluster. They work and neurologists know which one will go with the medications you take But you do need to let him know about these seizures Joe
