Am I having seizures?

Sat, 12/29/2018 - 09:02
my brain always feels foggy and theres periods of time where ill be in an altered state of mind, often having to have someone shake me out of it. i'll space out and pick at things, either my clothes or anything i can get my hands on. upon trying to fall back asleep, my jaw suddenly snapped shut. i woke up with my entire body trembling and my blanket on the floor. i also have occasional random jerks of the body, mostly my feet, but it's started spreading to my hands. i've also developed headaches and typically did not have them and they can be dull aches or throbbing pains. could i be having seizures?

So Madeline, I think you should set up an appointment with a neurologist who deals with Epilepsy. I say that because not all neurologist do. Yes they do deal with the brain, but some specialize in strokes etc.I can't say with certainty you are having seizures. What I will say, however, is the fact that there seems to be gaps between what you describe, it is possible that this might be seizures. By gaps I mean the laps in awareness of exactly what is going on. The movement in various parts of the body also points to probable neurological reactions. As a result, yes, I would recommend you trying to get an appointment with a neurologist. If you are in the United States, well, a great way to find out which hospitals do a pretty good job in neurology and neurosurgery is US News and World Report. Here is the link. Just scroll down and see which hospital might be close to you. As you'll see, the first, Mayo Clinic, is rated number 1 in neurology and neurosurgery here in the US. And as you scroll down you'll see many more names in the rating. Here is the link. https://health.usnews.com/best-hospitals/rankings/neurology-and-neurosurgeryBest Regards
