12 yo daughter has absence seizures and is non medicated

Tue, 09/11/2018 - 09:45
My daughter has had absence seizures for sometime. However, I didn't really notice them until 5 years ago. I have chosen not to medicate because being bipolar, i take the meds they suggest manage the seizures. We currently manage through low stress and enough sleep. I have read she will more than likely outgrow them. Thoughts?

many absence seizures are so brief, people don't catch them. children can have hundreds a day without parents catching most of them. if you haven't already, see a neurologist. if there are many seizures a day, it would be hard to believe that isn't impactlng learning.
