I've had just one seizure (so far)...from my benign 20-mm brain tumor

Ok, I'll be 71 in another week. Back about 3 months ago (i.e. in October, 2014), I had

a full seizure...my wife was awoken around 4:30am, to first hearing me calling out in

my sleep (as I've done much before...probably a vivid dream!), but then, suddenly I

was convulsing (I bit a nice gash in my lower lip), etc.

So, she call 911, and had me hauled off to emergency room, where they brought me

around an hour or so later.  I was dehydrated (yeak, ok, I had been drinking the nite

before...[ doesn't everyone!? :)  ]

It took a couple of months before I had an MRI, which found the 20-mm tumor. A few weeks after

that, I also had an EEG, which they said is totally normal.  The MRI also shows just a bit of edema

(swelling) on one side of periphery of the tumor.  If I recall correctly, they're now teaching/informing me

that it is (probably) the SWELLING that caused the pressure against my brain, that triggered the

seisure.  I say this, because now I just had a second-opinion visit at MassGeneral (Boston), where

they informed me, even if they were to surgically REMOVE the benign tumor, that swelling and

'trauma' to the area of the brain during surgery is also apt to trigger a few more seizures.

They're trying to convince me start taking the Lamictal-XR they have prescribed for me, but

so far I'm having too much fun with this tumor.  (I'm starting to suspect that I'm also a bit

bi-polar, and that the Lamictal (which is also used to treat bi-polar) is gonna "dull me down"

so that I'll be more zombie-like.  [Hey, like other bi-polar (aka manic/depressive types that I've

heard about), I've self-diagnosed myself as mostly 'manic', and I want to keep my 'highs'! ]

Ok, enough of my babbling...I'm all over the place here.

Maybe someone can re-direct me to where I should posting this info.

As to questions/ideas I have now:

(1) My wife also mentions to me that I often wake up with 'hiccups' in early morning, and I've read

in another epilepsy-conversation some hypothesizing that sometimes hiccups can be mini-seizure-like.

Is the factually substantiated, or just 'urban-legend'?

(2) The lab that did my EEG is also connected with a 'sleep lab' (where they monitor sleep-apnea patients).

I'm wondering if I could get on some 'research program' deal, where they could watch my brain-cyclce

during a night of my sleeping, to gain more insight into the nature of my current condition!?
