Epileptic, has grand mals & ptsd and thinking of becoming a Dr.

Sun, 01/21/2018 - 10:20
Hey, I'm Cody, I've been thinking about what I wanna do with my life. I've had grand mals since 2011 when I was 17. My current Neuro is a complete asshat and I honestly think is just trying to throw random pills down my throat and kill me cause I can barely stand the side effects from my current meds. I wanna just go straight cbd and weed to be free of my epilepsy and ptsd so I can become a Dr and help people. Just curious if anyone can give me any perspective on this it would actually help a lot thanks.

OK I understand what you are

OK I understand what you are saying. So now you are about 24 and think your euro is not working at stopping your seizures because you have been trying medications and you get the side effects. You want to get off meds and use weed and CBD to stop your seizures. You want to become  Dr so you can help people.Well for one things a medication that works for one person may not the next. Which is why there are over 60 different medications out there that can stop seizures. How many meds have you tried? How many dosages of the same medication were tried? Understand if your meds were changed it would take almost a month after you had taken your last pill of the one you are being taken off of in order for all the therapeutic levels to leave. During that time you would have 2 medications working because one is building while the other is decreasing. Meaning it wouldn't be until the 3rd month before you would know if the new medication was working by itself. If you are here in the states you also need to understand that not every state has approved the use of medical MJ and CBD.So you would need to get with your neurologist since it to will need to be prescribed. You have only been dealing with epilepsy and your seizures for about 7 years. Relax and learn how to deal with it and that can be done. I have done it since I still have a seizure now and then which you wouldn't know I had even if we were looking and talking to each other. I have only been dealing with my epilepsy for 50+ years since my diagnosis was back in 63 or 64.

All my life I have wondered

All my life I have wondered about the incentives my doctors had in pushing pills upon me when I felt miserable enough from the side effects.  It makes you wonder sometimes if they are trying to help the patient or if they are helping themselves.  I also have recently had some bad experiences with doctors who didn't seem to understand me.  I've been extra curious over the last year about what our doctors think when they treat us.  I bought a wonderful book recently to help me understand and communicate better with my doctor.  In How Doctors Think, Jerome Groopman explains the factors that influence doctor's decisions and leads them to come to misdiagnosis.  Groopman tells how important a good doctor patient relationship and gives suggestions on how to improve our communication.  At doctor appointments we usually just talk about our symptoms and treatment, but Groopman encourages patients to express our views of our relation and work at improving it.  It would be also good reading for you if you really want to understand what doctors go through to help others.

This is true.. Oh and hearing

This is true.. Oh and hearing what the doctor is having to go thru can help you know that Obamacare dies not help the doctors since over half their time with the patient is now taken up with doing what the government wants. Also most doctors that treat Medicaid and medicare patients are only receiving the same amount of money they got back in 2004. Read the doctors fix congress has to pass yearly.
