Can epilepsy be caused by toxic levels to chemicals

History of myoclonic and temporal lobe seizures for 30+ years, also have been living in relative exile woods for 20+ of those years. Reasoning on Phenytoin 300 mg per day, of late. Have tried everything under the sun for control, allergies to medicine are rampant. Reading through forum most prescriptions have rung bells. Seizures began as muscle contraction legs, lower body and arcing of back and occasional absence seizures. Take a walk with no memory of how the heck I got there. The magic of gps and in the woods is mixed blessing or disaster waiting to happen. Amazing how all trees look alike, no injuries as yet. OK the question re: toxic level of chemicals, there are times when I feel like the canary in a coal mine. If I come to close to chemicals (seizure) feel it coming on or taste it coming, or the dog lets me know. Mold might be trigger, funny smells, lights, stress. Tired of remaining a hermit want questions to ask new neurologist after blood work next month. Seizures started 30+ years ago while working at genetic research lab, with ventilator issues. Wasn’t the only one to develop issues with seizures, or spasms -GF as well. She diagnosed as restless leg, me quite different diagnosis. TLE, myoclonic, etc. Any studies ever conducted or research? No history of seizures prior, no head injuries, relatively uneventful life. Absence seizures in cities had train tracks involved or walks. Growing weary of being a pin cushion for Doctors. Tegretol? Put me in ER @ B&W Boston stopped breathing. Similar results for other wonder drugs, or increased seizures or a delightful nerve damage for tremors in my left hand, stutters, etc. Suggestions?

Phenytoin is known to make a person go toxic as it's happened to me. See if you can get on vimpat or onfi.
