I am 53 sezing for 24yrs.My sez were under control untill 5 yrs ago till I had one while I was driving, ran my van off the road and into a creek.I broke my back T11&T12.Due to nerve damage I was told that I'd never walk again with out a leg brace & crutches.I'm not 100% but I'm walking without either.I made up my mind that I'd be able to walk my dog again and I do. Here the thing now.Every 5-6wks always at night in my sleep I'll have a cluster of sez really bad.I'll scare my wife half to death. It takes me almost a week to get back to normal.I can't remember how to use the remote control, the microwewave anything like that for days afterward.I feel like a truck hit me.Having grand mal sez with a broken back is the cause of a lot of pain.My memory is shot.I've got the Docs at John Hopkins confused.I went through the surgury bit all I got out of it was a infection from the grids they put on my brain. That was some fun. They claim the sez are starting from both sides of my brain so they can't do anything to stop them without causing too much damage. There is no warning before I go to sleep.I do get very vivid dreams. I'm starting to wonder if I have some kind of a sleep disorder.

Hello I am 28, with life long seizures. I have had a failed brain surgery, i now have a VNS implant, to help contol my seizures. I like you have more seizures during the night than the day. This is because the more tired your brain the easier you will have breakthroughs. It is something i have asked my neurologists about, and they say that if the treatments i am going though now don't help reduce the amount, then it is just something i will have to live with. You are not having a sleep disorder, it is just another effect of being epileptic. 1/28/07
