Trileptal\Oxcarbazepine overdose be careful

Tue, 08/27/2013 - 15:54

I assume that most of us use the medication boxes, sorted by day, to hold the medications we use. Well, I am no different, and made a mistake. I take 2 600mg Oxcarbazepine, a day. One in the morning one at night. Well, I also take 2 1000Mg Keppra twice a day and must have gotten off in my pill counting when filling up the box. For about 5 days I went from 1200mg Oxcarbazepine a day, to 2400mg.

Of course, something must be wrong with my body right? At least, that is how it works in my house. I had to pull over when driving to work and have my friend come and pick me up. Then next day, I was walking down the hallway with my kids' breakfast and tripped, spilling everything everywhere. I was so dizzay that I got motion sickness and was throwing up for most of that morning. Then it dawned on me, maybe it was my medication....

I guess they do have us step up the level of medication for a reason right? Seriously though, be carefull when filling your med box. I have been doing it for a while now, and filled it thousands of times. This is the first time I have ever overdosed.

I would normally write this off as "that idiot", and that may be the case. Just pay real close attention to something that you may feel like is a amped up version of a side effect. I will never do that again.
