Weird story from couple of days ago about my myoclonic epilepsy

Wed, 06/26/2019 - 14:01
A little bit long, but would be very happy to get any sort of comment or advice. Thank you and have a nice reading. So I'm 17 years old and 11 months (almost 18, hyped!), and I have a myoclonic epilepsy. I don't know if it makes it automatically juvenile myoclonic epilepsy, but I don't think it has anything to do with the story. So, couple of I was in a preparation day for a youth movement, and I'm in the logistic side of the story - making all the food, sorting the equipment, handing out the equipment and the food to the groups in the youth movement. So in the preparation day, we sat down around a backless bench, and a friend decided (for some reason), to joke choke me, and I literally couldn't breath, and I heard him saying something, then a seizure has started and I got released from his choke and were on my way to fall down on my head, but just a second before I hit the ground, I found myself with my hand on the floor stopping me from falling on the head. Apparently, just before I fell on the ground, I put my hand down and stopped myself from falling. Something in my mind helped me avert the fall. Has that EVER happened to anyone or knows anything about it or why it happened? I seriously have no idea what the hell happened in that moment. The only thing I know is that my mind just saved me from a pretty bad hit. It wasn't grass or anything soft down there, it was asphalt.

Wow!  And probably nobody can

Wow!  And probably nobody can appreciate the incredible moment more that you.  Others may have seen you stop the fall but you know that you do not remember it. I've had several moments where I was in an unsafe situation and remember the seizure coming on.  I also remember beginning to move to safety.  But it's always incredible to think about that period in between where I do not remember yet I functioned to make it to safety.  I do not want sympathy, but I wish others could appreciate these incredible moments where the mind functions despite the seizures.
