my 8 yr old - 5 years seizure free - breakthrough seizure just happened I think????

My son is 8 and was diagnosed with epilepsy at age 1 1/2. From 18 months of age until he was 3yrs old he was on keppra and would be stable for months at a time but did have breakthrough seizures with...tonic clonic, partial complex seizures, absence and myoclonic seizures once in awhile until he was 3yrs old... we were finally able to control the seizures at the highest dose of Keppra for his age at the time. He was seizure free for almost exactly 5 years. I believe he just had 2 small-short seizures in church yesterday. He was acting very tired and disassociated all morning and while sitting beside me at the pew he leaned towards me, stared with struggles to keep his eyelids open, made a frown-like face and was stiff. IT seemed to be 2 separate 5-10 second episodes because in the middle he seemed to be somewhat aware and not completely "gone"...... once the small episodes ended he layed down on my lap for 5 minutes and then was completely himself for the rest of the day. Now, I am questioning my judgment if seizures even occurred ........I know he didn't want to be in church, was yawning and tired all morning and maybe he just was falling asleep,.....it's been so long since his last seizure (3yrs - 8 yrs)....I don't know what to expect. At the very moment it was happening I just got that "feeling" i renumbered so well. Does anyone have any comments or thoughts? My son was diagnosed with cortical dysplasia so I don't believe he will ever outgrow his episodes....

I would trust your gut that something is not right. Follow up with his neurologist's office. It sounds like a good time to ask if it's time for some additional testing.
