Massive headaches and nausea

Tue, 04/02/2019 - 09:02
Hi my name is Ugne and I’m 17 years old. My epilepsy is classified as severe since I’ve changed medications about 5 times now. For the past two or three months I’ve been getting extreme headaches following with nausea. I’ve done all the blood work that I could do and everything came back OK. I’m now waiting to be admitted to the hospital, because feeling like this is extremely debilitating. I’ve missed a lot of days of school, because I just feel so weak, restless and in pain. My episodes consist of getting dizzy, having a headache, being nauseous and then having body spasms or difficulty speaking. I’m currently using Convulex and I’m thinking about starting the Keto diet. I want to know if anyone else has had the same experience.

Ugne,When I was in my teens

Ugne,When I was in my teens and early twenties I had generalized seizures (grand mals, convulsions) once or twice a month.  Like you these left me nauseous and sleeping for a couple days.  The headaches were not just migraines but they were made worse by any noise or light.  I also found it peculiar that they hurt so badly on the right and left front sides of the head.  Years later I went in to an epilepsy center to be considered for brain surgery and they found the seizure foci which were the right and left temporal lobes.  These areas of the brain are just behind the eye sockets which was where I was experiencing the severe pain.  So that explained why the severe pain where it hit.I had a good portion of my right temporal lobe removed in 1993.  The generalized seizures have stopped but others continue so I will be pursuing more treatment.
