Infant daughter had two seizures on same day, now having facial spasms after waking.

My five month old daughter had two seizures on the same day last week. We were observed in hospital overnight; no fever, normal eeg, normal CT scan. She did have a UTI and was treated with antibiotics. In the last few days, I’ve noticed her having facial spasms after waking and jerky body movements - almost always a few minutes after waking from naps. I plan to contacts neurologist but welcome any thoughts.

nocturnal epilepsy is where the person has their seizures while sleeping or right before or after sleep. The type of seizures you saw might have been myoclonic which can have their own type of seizure. Do contact the neurologist and discuss tis with them.

Consult a pediatric

Consult a pediatric neurologist as soon as possible. Those spasms are called myoclonic Jerks and are an epilepsy symptom that typically occur during sleep/awake transitions after naps or sleep. Ct scan is not an epilepsy diagnostic test.  EEGs is the only that and more than one may be needed. An MRI is also routine.
