Advice on getting over not being able to drive?

Wed, 03/16/2016 - 19:56
Hi! My name's Stephanie. I'm 18 and experienced three tonic-clonic seizures before being put on Keppra. I don't have a formal diagnosis of epilepsy, as my parents are scared to take me off the meds for the 7-day EEG my neurologist wants, but she said I do most likely have epilepsy so is it cool if I chill here? :) I also have Undifferentiated Connective Tissue Disease, a neurological balance disorder, and Crohn's. The hardest thing for me to come to terms with is the loss of my license. I know, logically, that I'll be able to drive again after six months of being seizure-free, but in the meantime I'm just kind of...angry, I guess, but not at anyone specifically. As a teenager it was like a badge of freedom, and being cooped up in the house 24/7 is already driving me crazy! I live fifteen minutes outside the city, so I hate asking my friends to come pick me up since it's so out of their way, and since I'm homeschooled it's not like I get to see them everyday anyway. Any advice?? I've found Skype to just not be the same.
