questions about license suspension in california
Thu, 03/19/2015 - 19:21im going to try and make this fairly short. over the span of about 7-8 years ive had about 6-7 seizures. all of them but the last two, there were heavy amounts of alcohol and or drugs involved (cocaine). obviously i quit drinking alltogether and dont touch any drugs now, this was around 3-4 years ago. the last one i had there wasnt any alchohol/drugs involved. although i did have only 4 hours of sleep the night before, whitch i think sleep deprivation could play a role in it (im sure red bulls dont help either). long story short, i ended up seeing a neurologist after the last incident. had a mri and eeg, she said everything looked perfectly normal. she ended up reporting it to dmv and now my license is suspended. im under the impression that if your seizure free for 3 months you can get your license back, whitch i was well over that at the time..she said i needed to be siezure free for 3 months WHILE on medication, at the time it was only 2 and a half months while on meds. so basically i couldnt get an extention for the suspension because it had to be another 2 weeks until she could sign it and everything would have been fine. but now im stuck waiting for the 8 week timeframe to deal with getting my license back all for the 2 weeks. basically my question is, couldnt my neurologist of signed it 3 weeks ago when i was seizure free for well over the 3 month mark even if i werent on the meds? im just wondering if it would be worthwhile getting an attorney for this matter. this whole ordeal went from me partially caring about the seizures, to not caring at all and realizing it was a huge mistake even seeing a neurologist
she ended up reporting it to

she ended up reporting it to dmv and now my license is suspended. You did not post when you had that last seizure. If you did we might look closer at different things. You posted after the last incident you saw a neurologist. So my questions is when was your last seizure? Are you still on medications? Do you know the regulations written into laws requiring doctors to inform the DMV about a person who has had a seizure? Do you know that if yo uhad seen a docotr in an ER they too would have paperwork to fill out?. Or are you assuming it was just the neurologist and she has a thing against you? Have you ever gone a periood of time without driving? Do you know that there are many people that have gone longer periods of time without a seizure (with me 3+ years) only to have another seizure? Wait for those 2 weeks and check back with the DMV
