Once you are diagnosed is it for life???

Thu, 09/02/2004 - 14:38

I am asking this question because I had to provide a lawyer with "proof" that I have a history of seizures.  I gave him a neurologist's report, a letter from ministry of transportation, and ambulance reports.
According to the lawyer the neurologist's report is 9 years old and not valid proof.  Does this make sense to anyone??  If so please help me understand.
My family has learnt how to deal with the seizures.  An ambulance is only called when it happens away from home.  The last time I was hospitalized was 3 1/2 years ago.  If I went to the hospital everytime they would soon turn me away.  I'm sure everyone knows what I mean.
  Any input is appreciated.

I should have been a bit more specific.
I meant without surgery.
I mean for an adult.  You have a car accident. Hit your head. Seizures start.
And without surgery has anyone ever seen them just go away, all on their own???

I was in an accident in 1989 and suffered a head injury. I have had sz since and only have gotten worse.

Everyones case is different, are you still having sz? and are you on meds?

If you suffer Epilepsy, then yeah you need to see a Dr. at least once a year to make sure the meds are not affecting you in a bad way.
