Info About ‘Abdominal Epilepsy' and A.R.E.

Tue, 01/25/2005 - 16:48

I've had epilepsy for 18 yrs now and still certain that something is triggering the seizures in my lower right side abdomen. After explaining what I felt for years, over and over to my doctors, they always say that those feelings are ‘auras'. I now know about auras. Well, with what I've learned over the past years and with something I just found online early this month, I'm wondering if my problem is ‘Abdominal Epilepsy'. Also, if other people may have the same thing. Here's why. If people can have their szs starting with something triggering it, like flashing light, smells, audio, or even hot water on their heads, then would it be possible for something in a person's digestive tract to trigger a sz too? My szs most always occur around 6 hours after I've eaten and with where they start at, I now strongly believe they're being triggered within my digestive tract. Here's the website where I found information about abdominal epilepsy and suggest everyone to check it out… http://www.meridianinstitute.com/abepilep.htm

There's more with that searching I did on that article on Abdominal Epilepsy.

With that first article I read through about abdominal epilepsy it mentioned the person/doctor's name, Edgar Cayce. So next, I included that name in the searching to shorten down the found results. Anyway, for everyone who reads what I've written here and has time, then you definitely need to check it out, big time.

Pulled up the home page of the Edgar Cayce website at www.edgarcayce.org. But here's the great part. There is a section called “Overview of Treatment Plans”, which is loaded with health conditions, one being for Epilepsy. This menu selection is at www.edgarcayce.org/health/overview_treatmentplan.html. I ordered the one for Epilepsy, received it about a week ago, and with what I've read, I'm going to start the treatment plan. May even take a trip to the location where they're located, in Virginia Beach, VA. to make sure I do it correctly.

Then with alot of what's mention being for a person's diet, I e-mailed a message and asked if they'd recommend any special recipe books for this dieting plan. Yes, they do, and they're the one's who has them. Looking forward to getting them both soon. These books are listed in the A.R.E. Book Store: arebookstore.com/Default.asp?

For all that I've gone though with neurological testing [many different AED combinations, EEGs, MRIs, CT, 24hr veeg, WADA, & fEEG/brain mapping] and nothing more know about to help bring my szs to an end, I'm going to do some thing myself, and this treatment plan does sound like it might work.

Hello Bruce, I have been over the same thing with my doctors. I am Irish 40 YO male, 4 years ago I spent a year in Bangalore India, I ate curry for breakfeast lunch and tea. any way after the year I returned home only to find I was having black outs / szs evey so often. All found this very strange as I had not banged my head. why should they start so late in life. The docs said right off that I had brugada syndrome (they couldnt think as to what else it could be, they mentioned epilepsy but since lots of the time i dont shake etc. they came to brugade and wanted me to have the defib to be on safe side.), I was offered the option of a defib on national insurance and had to make a desision there and then other wise I would have to go on the waiting list. to cut a long story short I took the defib only to find out that I had repeated szs after and nothing was recorded. My szs usually happen between 8 and 10am. Since day one I have always explained to the docs of vague gastric distress, ascending up into the chest, nausea, bloating, and diarrhea were common. I have this sickness n my stomach so often, but I know when its when I begin to vomit that I have black out szs, i dont actually vomit though. I seen my doctor a few times and after much to ing and foe ing I had a camera down put my mouth and they had a peek of my stomach kinda area. Alll that was noted were the many "adhesions" in the lacteal ducts of the abdomen. I seen the site you mentioned and will read up on it. I would be very interested to hear back of any cure. I am 100% sure now as to why I have szs. regards Kenny

Hi yea, re"I'm going to start the treatment plan. " Did you ever give it a go, if so did it help. RE "My szs most always occur around 6 hours after I've eaten" Mine usually happen between 7 and 10 am, I have had some 50 szrs and only between those hours. I note in the link you gave to the meridian institute http://www.meridianinstitute.com/abepilep.htm It mentions "adhesions" in the area of the lateal ducts, Well I had my hospital put a camera down me and they mentioned that I have quiet a few of them. I would be reallly interested if you took part in the treatment plan. I have found that probiotics have helped my stomach a little but I am really considering the treatment plan. regards Kenny
