Injured at work after falling because of seizure

Mon, 12/22/2008 - 17:21
Upon having a seizure at work, I fell and badly dislocated my shoulder. I have to be off work for 6 weeks and have Physical therapy! My company said that Workers Comp was not covering me, since I had a "pre-existing disease". I live in Florida. Is this correct information???? Please advise me!!!!!

hi coffee, Sorry to hear of your incident and i hope your doing better. I also suggest you seek an attorney that deals with disabilities. It sounds like the state of florida is trying to save a bit of cash at your expense... talk with your dr. look up the attorney general's office and read . if needed make a complaint against the company. pre existing conditions can refer to any condition that eventually catches up with us. i live in mass, and fortunately have not had a problem with the jobs i have held. i believe bush just passed a law for the disabled..good luck and get better ... baz
