K.C. is understaffed?

Sun, 11/09/2014 - 13:10

I moved to Kansas City with a family member who has epilepsy. Back home, our local epilepsy foundation director was outstanding at helping people with epilepsy meet each other and create a support network for each other with caring phone calls and visits. I became a regular monthly donor to the Epilepsy Foundation because of all the oustanding work they did there.

Here in K.C., I am more than underwhelmed. Phone messages are rarely returned by the staff, and *never* do they help my relative connect to any other people with epilepsy in our area. I cancelled my monthly donations because of the dearth of help available in K.C.

I hope they will add more staff or whatever it is that they need to rise to meet the needs of people with seizures in this area. It's not unusual for charities to underperform in Kansas; people are very uncharitable here. But, I am still very disappointed.
