.... I passed out twice at work on saturday and after the 2nd time i passed - the 7th.- out i had a seizure. i have to get a table tilt test done next friday. they strap me to a bed in different angles while they take my heart rate. this is to see if having my heart rate fast makes me passs out. otherwise they don't know y this happened. it is the 2nd time i had a seizure-i don't know what it looked like but i am gonna find out this weekend-, my 1st one was after i got blood drawn out of me in nov.-they don't think my 2nd seizure was one cuz it only lasted like 10-15 sec. mabey more, they usually last for a few minuetes, and the 4th time i passed out and i passed out in nov. after i got my blood drawn right before i had my seizure- this was like 10- 15 sec. long and i passe out rite after i swam in my race in my swim meet on april 18th, 2005.- if u count that i passed out twice at work. after the second time i passed out at work i had a seizure. my parents kinda don't want me going down to cape girardeau, missouri-i live in st. louis, missouri- for college next year cuz of this. i almost ended up on stand(i lifeguard) when it happened too- if sean wouldn't have had swim lessons i would of been on stand then i would of fallen off when i passed out then probably busted my head open... and all this has happened in about 2 years- it will be 2 years on april 18th this year. i don't want it to happen agin but if they don't know y it hapened it will happen agin... now i have to rethink about swimming on a team- st. louis spirit- a USS team- this summer... my docotor gave me big horse pills- amoxicillian- i have an infection somewhere in me becuase my white blood cell count is high....they done a CAT scan- 8 hours later, an MRI- 46 hours later,an EEG-56 hours later, an ultrasound of my heart,- all of these were normal. and i have to do a tilt test next friday. what will happen with the tilt test and if i have epilepsy will i pass out when they do the test?

"i don't want it to happen agin but if they don't know y it hapened it will happen agin..." Untrue. 1/2 of all cases of epilepsy are idiopathic (= there is no known cause so they don't know why) yet 3/4 of those with E are completely controlled via meds. Please, try not to worry... things may seem rough, but no matter how bad they look there is always someone who is worse off.. so look at the glass as always 1/2 full. Info on the tilt table test: http://hrspatients.org/patients/heart_tests/tilt_table.asp It's a cardiology (heart) test that's used to determine a cause of syncope (fainting or loss of consciousness0. You are attached to an ECG which measures the electrical pulses in the heart, so you are not being tested for epilepsy. It's a fact that many people with epilepsy have normal EEGs and need a prolongued in-hospital VEEG test to cause seizures to appear which are then recorded. If your tilt table test comes back normal, you might want to inquire about a VEEG. hope that helps, & best wishes.. ~sol
