Looking for support...

Folks, I have been with this one community forum since January this year, and have enjoyed helping to provide caring support and informations to many individual's questions about having a life with epilepsy. But with what took place several months ago, which eventually setteled down somewhat, it has obviously restarted and is getting rather frustrating to me, as well as a few other people. Now I am going to do the asking for help and support from anyone and everyone who is willing to do so. No need to worry, because I never plan or want to leave the group. But I sure could use some assistance to get a few people who just refuse to stop their griping at me, posting continuous putdowns upon me, and then telling me to leave alone and drop it. I am not trying to be the valedictorian of this group, but I do not want to be labeled as a class clown either. So please folks, help me to get these few irritating individuals off my back. Many early thanks to everyone who is willing to do so. Bruce

Dear Bruce, From what I have observed you are very helpful and supportive to many people on this site and you have much support from those you have assisted. A request such as you have posted can only turn into a slanging match and therefore is not a helpful or pleasant way to fix your problem. The people you have issues with have also been extremely kind and helpful to many, many people. As you no doubt know, I do not have epilepsy but come here searching for support for my son who suffers seizures but has no diagnosis for his condition. I can handle most of the angst floating around this site but I'm sure he could not at this stage, and yes, it is distressing for other users, old and new. These arguments? only continue if people choose to participate. This particular flare up seems to have been caused by yourself denigrating people who were trying to lighten up the difficult task of changing to a confusing new forum while at the same time lending support to others in the same boat. This is not an accusation, but a friendly reminder that we all handle stress in different ways. I again thank you for the help you have given me in my search for answers concerning Nick's seizures and also thank the other wonderful people here who have held out their hands and hearts in support and friendship. I am respectfully suggesting that you now remove your post and I will do the same. There is really no place for a thread such as this in a supportive community. Kind Regards, Maryanne :)

very well said.....
