Stacy,
I am 60 yrs. old and have plenty of stories to enlighten other epileptics with! It will take time to "get them together;" but I will!
Right now I am trying to deal with the fact that along with Epilepsy comes personality traits that must be dealt with. I truly believe
Epileptics see things differently than other people. That perception is part of the problem. Medication is only part, a big part, of the
answer.
My immediate excitement as a reaction to things often triggers a seizure. Sometimes I see the "red flag", but often I miss it. Now I
am working on seeing that red flag before the seizure occurs all the time with a psychologist. I am not so sure doctors want to tread
on such territory. They should!

Stacey,
I know I have emailed you once before, but your enthusiasm is inspirational!
Right now I am really into "Stress Management" and I think all epileptics should
take a close look how stress creates seizures. I wish I had tried to get a handle
on it years ago!
I am aware of one thing. Even if you see the problem for what it is, you really need
professional help working on the solution.
ST-after Stress management I want to work I seeing a guru--they can see deep inside of
you and show you how you tick!

hi stacey, about 13yrs ago, give or take, in boston, mass there was a group art show consisting of all people with temporal lobe epilepsy. i think there was some sort of study about epilepsy, the tempoal lobe and art. it was held at the Do While Studio and the curator was a woman with TLE. it was a wonderful exhibit and most of the artists were there, i think there was even one from australia. many differents mediums including videoed performance art, poetry, computer generated are(remember this was the early 90's and the more standard painting, scetching, photography and sculpture: very varied indeed. there was a book given to the artists and sold for a while, i'm sure it isn't available anymore, i don't even know if the gallery still exhists. it was called 'from the storm: artists with tempoal lobe epilepsy'it was so nice going to an opening that wasn't dominated by alcohol and pretenciosness, a very real and down-to-earth crowd. in the book was included a sampling of each artist's art in the show and also a bio descrbing their experinces making,or times unable to make, art and it's relavance to their seizures and meds. it was a very interesting, validating(since i never concidered myself an artist) and fulfilling experience. i found out about it from a flyer posted for a call for artists with E that was posted around an open studios event that happened each year.maybe you can put something out there to gather people with E together and put something together whatever it may be.-basil
