Video Competition for International Epilepsy Day 2019
Epilepsy News From: Monday, September 17, 2018

Public Awareness Through Videos
Increasing public awareness of epilepsy and seizures reduces fear and discrimination caused by lack of knowledge. Understanding is crucial to improving the quality of life of people with epilepsy.
Short videos are an extremely effective way to tell a story. Whether the video is made using a personal smart phone or professional production, videos shared on social media can change minds and open hearts.
Video Contest
For International Epilepsy Day 2019, we join the International Bureau for Epilepsy (IBE) and International League Against Epilepsy (ILAE) in inviting you to enter a video competition with cash prizes for the winning entries. All entries may be used in future digital and print material from IBE to raise awareness and increase knowledge about epilepsy.
The competition is open to everyone of every age. There are two categories:
- My Personal Story
This category invites people with epilepsy, their families, friends, and carers to create non-professional, individual short videos using a smart phone or personal camera to inspire others or highlight problems faced. The video should connect to your own life or community and inspire a better understanding of what it is to live with epilepsy. - Educational Video
Many epilepsy organizations and support groups have developed fantastic professionally produced videos to educate the public, policy-makers, and people with epilepsy themselves, about epilepsy. If your organization has created a short video within the past three years, which fits within this category, then why not enter!
Find the complete entry rules here.
Submissions are due by Friday, December 15, 2018.
