Award-Winning and Bestselling Author Uses His Talents and Passion for Epilepsy Awareness

Epilepsy News From: Wednesday, October 24, 2018

National award-winning journalist and New York Times bestselling author, Kurt Eichenwald, recently published a memoir about living with epilepsy. Having been diagnosed with epilepsy in his teens, the book, A Mind Unraveled, chronicles his life as a college freshman consumed by medical struggles, discrimination, physical abuse and dark moments. Eichenwald discusses his battle to pursue his dreams despite his often-incapacitating form of epilepsy. From experiencing fear and denial, to his search for the right treatment, Eichenwald candidly talks about this often misunderstood and often stigmatized condition.

“This book provides inspiration for people with epilepsy, and shows what people can accomplish in life despite the challenges of living with a disorder that affects more than 3.4 million people in the U.S. We invite everyone to support Kurt and read and share his book with others, because we do believe that as more stories of epilepsy are shared, the more we will raise awareness and resources in our fight to End Epilepsy,” said Philip M. Gattone, president and CEO, Epilepsy Foundation.
